Surf City Skates: Growing, Rolling, and Dreaming Bigger in 2025

If there’s one thing this year has shown me, it’s that roller skating is alive, thriving, and more exciting than ever. Since January, I’ve been diving headfirst into all kinds of projects — from big event planning to creative collaborations — and it’s been a wild ride! Here’s a peek at what I’ve been up to so far in 2025.

🌟 Going Bigger with Custom Shoe Skates

This year, we’re leveling up on one of our favorite Surf City Skates specialties — building custom shoe roller skates.From Vans to Converse and beyond, these one-of-a-kind creations have become a fan favorite, and we’re excited to take them even bigger in 2025. It’s such a joy to blend style, comfort, and skating culture into something totally unique that skaters can rock both on the rink, at the skatepark and in the streets.

🏟️ Pop-Up Roller Rinks & Big Events

Pop-up roller rink events have my heart, and this year I’ve been deep in the planning side of things. A few highlights:

• Consulting on and rolling out large skate rental fleets for events that need hundreds of pairs ready to roll.

• Teaming up with partners to bring turnkey roller skating experiences to large fairs and festivals.

Each project is a balancing act between spreadsheets and sparkles — but nothing beats seeing a huge group of people light up when they hit the rink!

🎪 Big Local Events on the Horizon

And here’s a little teaser: I’m currently working on some large-scale local events that are going to knock your socks off! I can’t spill all the details just yet, but trust me — they’ll be bigger, bolder, and packed with the kind of skating energy that brings communities together in unforgettable ways.

💜 The Heart of It All

At the end of the day, my mission with Surf City Skates hasn’t changed: I want to keep creating joyful, community-centered skating experiences wherever I can. Whether it’s a neighborhood skate meetup, a massive pop-up rink, or a huge cultural event, the goal is always the same — bringing people together through the magic of skating.

This year is already rolling fast, and I know there’s so much more ahead. I’m ready to keep pushing what skating can bring to communities everywhere.
